Reframing Rain’s First Anniversary: A Puddle Splashing Special Occasion

To mark this puddle splashing special occasion, I want to trace a few of the threads from God's hand weaving this gentle community for Reframing Rain together.

The very first post launching the Reframing Rain Facebook community is one of my favorites. Do you see two muddy kids and clothes that might never come clean? Can you tilt the frame just a little and see a memory of one of the best mud puddle days ever? Perhaps the photo might even show up again at a future graduation or wedding celebration. Moving from seeing a muddy mess to treasured times is Reframing Rain.

Sometimes Reframing Rain is merrymaking mud puddle memories. Sometimes Reframing Rain is a tender journey with the Lord toward finding peace and the resurrection of hope amongst the ache of unimaginable loss.

Reframing Rain includes noticing and articulating God’s gifts of beauty in His creation while still holding space for the immense sorrows of the last year. Sometimes we had to look really hard, yet, through each circumstance, we held each other’s hand and together pointed to God, His goodness, and His ability to bring tender healing to our deepest pain with “droplets of hope.”

Jesus and gentleness are at the very core enveloping the Reframing Rain community. It is such a blessing to witness the gentleness of your contributions and conversations with me and with each other. Your presence, prayers, posts, comments, and emails have been instrumental in this community finding fresh and refreshed perspectives.

 Reframing Rain

 Thank You:

On a heart-shattering anniversary, one year ago today, the Lord nudged me to share a message of reframing life through a lens of gentleness, encouragement, and His love. With lots of behind-the-scenes help and a trembling heart, I pushed publish near the beginning of a worldwide pandemic launching the Reframing Rain community.

I believe the Lord knew how crucial a gentle and encouraging place that kept Him at the center would be during a year filled with unimaginable turmoil, loss, and disasters. Together we discovered a year also filled with unimaginable gifts of beauty from ashes, hope, peace, and joy.

As of today, thousands of people have visited Reframing Rain from twenty different countries. I find numbers like that encouraging and fascinating, but what really matters is fulfilling the Lord's call to create a safe and gentle community learning to Reframe Rain. Thank you for the privilege of your presence here. May God bless you with His love and nearness as we step into year two of Reframing Rain together.
